Jeep 4x4 Vehicles Perth: Droving Or Driving?

One of bush poet Andrew ‘Banjo’ Paterson's poems, Clancy of the Overflow, describes the life of a nineteenth century drover, and the pleasures to be had from a life spent out in the vast, open bush. He writes:

In my wild erratic fancy visions come to me of Clancy
Gone a-droving `down the Cooper' where the Western drovers go;
As the stock are slowly stringing, Clancy rides behind them singing,
For the drover's life has pleasures that the townsfolk never know.

No doubt the life of drovers like 'Clancy' could be hard, dirty and dangerous at times. But they were also free, happy and a world away from the grime and noise of the city. As Australians, we have some of the world's most beautiful wilderness right on our doorstep. We can head out of Perth and find ourselves in exactly the same landscape that Clancy drove his cattle through all those years ago.
